Nicholas Latifi is ready to move to Indycar in 2023.


The Canadian rider`s contract with Williams expires at the end of this season, and so far the athlete has not decided where he will perform next year. Among the options is the continuation of a career in Indycar, although Latifi himself has not yet confirmed the signing of a contract with one of the teams in the American racing series.


For now, I`m looking at all options. Clearly, the most obvious - or it looks like it to most people from the outside - transition to Indycar. These are also formulas, these are races of the highest level, this is a very exciting series.


I note that this is the series that I watch during weekends free from F-1. The races are very exciting - they are special and like a very advanced Formula 2.


There were funny moments at the US Grand Prix in Austin when the fans came up to me and congratulated me on my transition to Indycar - they did it in passing, so at some point I stopped telling them that it was not so.


I have not decided on my future career - there are options in various categories, - said Latifi.


Lord added that if he competes in the Indycar, he will not refuse to participate in the more dangerous oval tracks for a better chance of success in the championship:


As a formula racer, I know there is a perception in Europe that oval racing is more dangerous than road racing. I am aware that this is true, although the series has recently made progress in improving safety, and yet I would not refuse to speak at such stages - I do not want to deprive myself of possible points that could affect the fate of the championship.


And besides, I just need to train on such tracks if I suddenly intend to compete in Indycar for several years.
